Who We Are

Financial Data Exchange (FDX) is a non-profit financial industry organization dedicated to promoting and enhancing a common interoperable standard for securely sharing consumer financial data. Open to financial institutions, fintech companies, consumer advocacy groups, and other industry participants, FDX puts consumers in control of their personal financial data and facilitates the development, growth and industry-wide adoption of the FDX API’s operating framework. FDX is a subsidiary of FS-ISAC.

What You Will Do

We are seeking a self-motivated individual with a grasp of software development methods, REST APIs, documentation frameworks, and a passion for technology to stand up a robust documentation library for our international data sharing framework; the FDX API, to empower developers to implement quickly and accurately. You will also assist with the crafting of security and user experience (UX) frameworks to be published as industry best practices. Work product will include REST API documentation, training, user guides, job aids, and code samples for developers & integrators to use.

You will engage with product managers, and software technologists across North America’s top financial services and software companies via participation in work groups, and task forces. You will facilitate their progress by providing continuity, systems access, technical inputs, thought leadership, and connecting the work across committees. You will proactively identify obstacles and come up with innovative ideas and technical solutions to drive productivity, and progress towards secure, inter operable financial data access.

Position Qualification and Experience

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong facilitation and organizational skills
  • Self-driven, able to work independently, and propose new ideas
  • Excellent project management skills, managing own and group deliverables
  • Proven experience in documenting RESTful APIs
  • Software development lifecycle and tools experience
  • Able to learn and to communicate technical concepts across wide-ranging audiences
  • Experience in writing, editing and proofreading of technology documents
  • Experience creating and maintaining a large content portfolio across documents, code, publishing tools, and forums
  • Innate curiosity and a continuous learning mindset.


  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science or related field of study with 2+ years technical writing and managing the content creation process or
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English with 5+ years technical writing and managing the content creation process and familiarity with leading programming languages and SDLC

Strong understanding of

  • REST APIs – JSON, yaml
  • Programming languages – Python, JS, HTML, Java
  • Tools – Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, Apigee, CMS, Swagger, Markdown, Adobe, Microsoft
  • UX design concepts
  • Open standards, and APIs e.g., IETF, ISO, W3C
  • Digital identity and security – NIST, OpenID, FIDO, Oauth
  • The software engineering processes


This position is a remote role. Principals are in Eastern and Pacific time.
